The Corinthian Rose Tree, also known as Prunus cerasifera ‘Corinthian’ or sometimes Pissardii, is a variety of the ornamental cherry tree. It is well-loved for its attractive foliage and flowers, making it a popular choice for landscaping. It’s a deciduous tree that produces fragrant, double pink flowers in the spring.

  • Fruit: After flowering, it may produce small, red or yellow fruit, resembling cherries. While edible, the fruit is often tart and not typically consumed raw.

Growing Condition:

  • Climate: The Corinthian Rose Tree thrives in temperate climates. It prefers well-drained soil and full sunlight, making it ideal for gardens and urban landscapes. It’s ideal for use as a street tree or where space is limited.
  • Growth Habit: It is relatively fast-growing and can be pruned to maintain a desired shape.
  • Hardiness: It is quite hardy and can tolerate a range of temperatures, though it is best to avoid extreme winter cold or strong winds. USDA growing zones 5 to 8
  • Drought Conditions: Once established after a few years, it can withstand periods of drought.
  • Pruning is not necessary but can be done to help your Corinthian Pink keep its columnar shape.
  • Mature Size: In an upright columnar form to 25 feet tall and only 8 to 10 feet wide.

  • Landscaping: It is often used for ornamental purposes in gardens and along streets due to its vibrant foliage, attractive blossoms, and compact size. The tree can provide color throughout multiple seasons. Foliage, Structure and of course Flowers.
